Autosplice Inc.

AUTOSPLICE was started in New York City in 1954, and in those early days the firm was named General Staple Company.

What makes Autosplice special?

Autosplice's products are made in continuous form designed for automated insertion. This means that manufacturing costs can be reduced as an automated process is facilitated. Other benefits from this are a more consistent and quicker method of operation, resulting in higher efficiency.

· Splicing/Crimping
Splicing or Crimping is a advanced, cheap method of making connections. A machine 'wraps' a metal strip (spliceband) around two wires, wire-pin, wire-component, etc. to make a connection. In many cases it can form a substitute for soldering as it is faster and cheaper. Benefits: no fumes, no scrap (100% spliceband is used), easy operation, continuous operation.

· Insertion Machines
(Semi-)Automatic insertion machines allow application of the Autosplice pins and tabs into PCB's. Fully automated machines can be part of a assembly line and comply to all SMEMA standards. It can eliminate the need for wave soldering completely. By changing the 'head' of the machine, a different component can be used, without using different machines. By reducing the manual labor needed for the application, considerable cost reductions can be achieved.

· Pins
Together with an insertion machine, the AutoPin can deliver connections at a very low applied cost. This requires, however, that the amount of pins to be used is not too low, so that the investment in an insertion machine can be justified.
